It all started in the summer of 2014 on a tennis court at Quail Hollow Country Club. Christopher had just been hired, and he was assigned to my court to learn the ropes. We hit it off right away—quick friends with an easy connection and a lot of laughter. Those two summers of coaching together were some of the best of my life, full of sunshine, shared jokes, and maybe even a sweet moment or two that hinted at something more.
But life had other plans for a while. Christopher went off to college, and I eventually did too, heading to Connecticut. We lost touch as we each followed our paths—until September 2020, when he noticed I was moving back to Charlotte after graduation.
We reconnected, and it was like no time had passed. The spark was still there, just as warm and effortless as ever. It felt like we were picking up something that had quietly waited for us.
Since then, we’ve been building a life full of love, laughter, and really great timing. This November, almost five years since we found our way back to each other, we can’t wait to say “I do.”
